“All day, every day, therapist, mother, maid
Nymph then a virgin, nurse then a servant
Just an appendage, live to attend him
So that he never lifts a finger
24∕7, baby machine
So he can live out his picket fence dreams
It’s not an act of love if you make her
You make me do too much labour”
Labour – Paris Paloma
Have you ever wondered why the women around you are fucking tired? No matter where we go in the world, we are fighting for our rights simply to exist, be our own beings and not be set on fucking fire on subways with no-one stepping in to save our fucking lives.
If I sound angry, it’s because I am. For too long, women have been seen as a entity to be controlled, our bodies decided on and debated by a room full of rich, cold men who haven’t seen a women naked in person since their 22nd birthday.
In the UK alone, violence against women and girls has become an epidemic. A FUCKING EPIDEMIC. The UK is getting worse despite years of government promises and strategies, a highly critical report from Whitehall’s spending watchdog stated. The watchdog found “disjointed” efforts meant violence against women and girls (VAWG) was a “significant and growing problem” affecting 1 in 12 women in England and Wales and causing physical, mental, social and financial issues for these women and girls. Excellent, right?
One in twelve. One in twelve. One in twelve.
The prevalence of sexual assaults (the proportion of the population to have suffered an assault each year) increased from 3.4% of the population each year to 4.3% in 2023-24. Police reports of rape and sexual assault increased from 34,000 to 123,000 over the same period, in part because of improved recording. Ah yes, better recording, well done. Just a suggestion, maybe take people who report seriously? When I reported my rape, I was asked if I wanted to go ahead with the report as “this may ruin his life?“.. I mean good? He ruined mine? He fucking raped me??????
Gender based violence, sexual violence and harassment, workplace discrimination, discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, women take on more unpaid work than men, getting kidnaped, raped and murdered by a police officer.. all this and more in the fun world of being a women.
Globally, on average 30% of all women who have been in a relationship have experienced physical and/or sexual violence committed against them by their partner. Women are more likely to be victims of sexual assault including rape, and are more likely to be the victims of so-called “honour crimes”.
The USA literally voted 34 time felon and convicted sex offender into the office because they would rather have a dude with four criminal cases in charge than a woman. Ah yes, solid choice, let’s vote the fucking rapist in because he’s soooo totally gonna protect the rights of your mothers, sister and daughters. Their right to fucking health care is being stripped away with each fucking passing minute and don’t even fucking get me started on how the USA treats our trans sisters. Only 30% of women’s shelters are willing to house trans women. While recent legal progress has been made, 27% of trans people have been fired, not hired or denied a promotion due to their trans identity. New legislation is trying to create a legal definition of womanhood based on the capacity to produce ova, or human eggs. This definition of “woman,” which is designed to exclude trans women and girls, would then apply throughout US state law — and could make it impossible for trans people to live openly at work, at school, or anywhere in the states they call home. I’ll tell you something, I’ve not once felt uncomfortable in a room full of trans women.. you know where I have felt uncomfortable? Room full of men.
TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN. That’s not up for fucking debate.
You wonder why we are fucking angry?
You wonder why women every where are marching.. sorry.. STILL FUCKING MARCHING.
When the fuck will we be seen as people? Our outrage is real and it’s time it’s taken fucking seriously. We will not go backwards. We will not be silent. We will stand together and we will not stand for this shit any longer.
What can you do during these time to help support women, trans women and women’s rights?
- Raise you voice
- Call out any wrong’s you see
- Volunteer
- Attend marches and protests
- Being an ally
- Advocating for policies and legislation that promote gender equality, promote trans rights and protect the rights of women and trans women
- Respecting and valuing the experiences and perspectives of women/trans women and listening to their voices
- Challenging gender stereotypes and promoting a more inclusive society
From now on a women’s place is in the fucking revolution. They can’t ignore us all.
Fuck this shit, bye xoxooxoxo
