Alright Geezas,
When writing about Pintglass it’s the only polite way to start this post. We don’t write many live reviews on here anymore. However when you see a band like Pintglass; you can’t help but get back on the old blog and review the shit out of these guys.
Last night the future husband and I made our way down to Southampton to see local legends Pintglass on their first ever headline tour and unsurprisingly they didn’t disappoint.
Stood at the side being the well trained “pit wife” that I am (aka I hold all Gabs shit while he spin kicks push moshers) even I was tempted to throw down. I didn’t. I’m old…. But I was tempted and that’s what matters.
How do you explain Pintglass to someone that’s never heard them? Basically it’s hardcore for the true geeza. If you like cafe breakfasts, drugs, Stella and bullying the apprentice; Pintglass might just be for you. Even if you don’t, Pintglass is 100% for you.
These high-viz clad geeza supremes took the stage and from that moment on the room was theirs. There was no doubt that the crowd was primed and ready. From the from the call to action of “when I say geeza, you say geeza” the room was ready to fucking throw down.
This tour was to celebrate the launch of their album which you can check out on Spotify here. Now, if you want banger after banger PINTGLASS provides just that.
When I say vocalists Ben and Goose know how to work a crowd, that would be an understatement of the year. These two know their audience and what gets the people going. Their vocals and harsh deeper growls are so on point, it’s like you’re listening to the recorded version, live.
The rest of the band are one of the tightest and most talented musicians I’ve ever had be pleasure of listening too. I’ve seen bigger bands on bigger stages not sound even a quarter as good as these guys. it’s not often I gush about musicians but these guys are more than worthy of the praise. It’s quite clear that the passion and talent are there.
Someone book these cunts for Download, right now. They deserve to be on stages triple the size, playing to thousands. How they are not signed and working with some of the biggest labels in the game I will never understand.
Have you ever been in a room where hot dog sausages are flying about? No? Well as of last night I have been. The Cookie Monster was also there and no, I will not be providing more context to either statement.
When I tell you from the bottom of my heart and I say this with my chest, get into the GTHC now because I am predicting these mad cunts blow up to ridiculous heights within the scene. Most of all they fucking deserve it.
Look, if you’re looking for a fucking fun time and enjoy some hardcore, this band is for you.
Also to the guy in the pit who didn’t understand how pits work, maybe have a Google and don’t be a little bitch. That ain’t very geeza of you.
I highly recommend picking up tickets to their tour this week, which you can find here. Some places are sold out, so grab where you can.
Also they have some of the best merch in the game which you can pick up here.
Okay geezas.
Love you, bye
